After Hours Emergencies
Contact the hospital operator at 734-936-4000 and ask to have the on-call chaplain paged.
Services from an interdenominational team of chaplains are available 24 hours a day. Routine spiritual care is offered Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. After-hours needs are handled by an on-call chaplain. Both routine and after-hours services from chaplains can be arranged by contacting a nurse, unit clerk or the departmental offices. Our chaplains provide:
- Spiritual counseling
- Requested rituals, prayers, communion, reconciliation, anointing, emergency baptism
- Spiritual assessment
- Scheduled worship services
- Routine patient visitation
- Family and staff support
- Educational in-services on spiritual and religious issues
- Participation in ethics consults, family conferences and interdisciplinary rounds
- Liason with community clergy and faith communities
- Crisis intervention counseling
- Bereavement counseling
The University Hospital chapel is located on the second floor of University Hospital, room 2A215. The Mott Hospital chapel is located on the eighth floor, room F8315. Both are open 24 hours a day.

Channel 37 broadcasts inspirational programs throughout the day, in addition to the televised Sunday worship services. A Catholic Mass is broadcast daily at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. A Protestant service is broadcast at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
