Parking at Mott Children's Hospital

Mott Hospital & Birth Center parking and drop-off information
Due to construction of the new U-M C.S. Mott Children's Hospital and Women's Hospital, the circle drive entrance to the current Mott and Women's facility is closed. Those with dust or mold sensitivities should use the U-M Hospital main entrance (Taubman Center). Masks are recommended for immune-compromised persons.

Laboring Women & Mott Ambulance Service
Laboring women and ambulances transporting patients to Mott will use the newly designated Birth Center Triage and Ambulance entrance located just west of the old MCHC circle drive. There will be a Security station at the Birth Center Triage entrance for additional assistance. This station will be staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Discharge all Birth Center patients and their families to the Birth Center Triage entrance.

Parking for Mott and Maternal Child Health Center patients, families and visitors
All Mott/MCHC patients should park in Parking Structure A (South entrance) or take advantage of valet services at the main University Hospital (Taubman Center) entrance. Signage for wayfinding to Mott/MCHC from this entrance is displayed. Visitors also can get assistance from staff at the UH (Taubman Center) main entrance Welcome Center (staffed 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.) and the MCHC information desk (staffed 24/7).

Parking Validation
Patients and visitors to Mott and the Birth Center can get their parking tickets validated at two locations: Mott Visitor Badging Stations located on the second level of Mott (across from the East Visitor and West elevators) from 6 a.m. – 9 p.m.; and the MCHC Information Desk located on the second level in Taubman from 9 p.m. – 6 a.m.

Parking for patients and visitors is available at three parking structures.

Parking Structure A is located next to the front entrance of University Hospital, on Medical Center Drive. It is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Parking Structure B is located next to the Cancer Center entrance on Medical Center Drive and is intended for use by Cancer Center patients and the family/friends who accompany them to appointments. The deck is open 6 a.m. to 11 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturdays. This parking structure is closed on Sunday.

Parking Structure C is located directly below the Cardiovascular Center and is intended for use by CVC patients and families. The structure is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

    Fees

The cost of parking is the same at each of the three parking structures. Rates are as follows:

Patients and inpatient visitors can pay a lower parking fee by having their parking tickets stamped. Please remember that validated parking doesn't mean free parking. Outpatients can get their tickets stamped at the clinic where they are being treated. Inpatient visitors can get their tickets stamped on the floor of the patient they are visiting, at the floor nursing station or at one of the following six information/registration desks:

    Outpatient Day Parking Pass

The Outpatient Day Parking Pass allows outpatients with multiple appointments on the same day to leave the medical campus between appointments and pay only once for parking. This pass is available to those parking in Parking Structures A, B or C. If you'd like an Outpatient Day Parking Pass, ask the parking attendant for it during your first exit from the parking structure. The attendant will attach the 1st exit payment receipt to the pass and give it to you to present along with a validated ticket stub for all subsequent, charge-free exits that day.

    Inpatient Visitor Parking Pass

Inpatient visitors who return frequently (family members, close friends, etc.) may qualify to receive an Inpatient Visitor Parking Pass. This pass provides two services: pre-authorization for the lower parking fee; and payment of only one fee per calendar day. Passes are issued on the inpatient floors by social work staff, nurses and clerical staff. Passes may be issued for a maximum of fourteen calendar days. After fourteen days, a new pass will be required. The customer must present the pass with their parking ticket to the parking structure cashier-attendant. For the first exit, payment of the reduced rate fee is required. Subsequent exits on the same calendar day are free when a parking ticket, pass and payment receipt (provided by the cashier-attendant) are presented.
